Teacher's Biography

I am a TAG science teacher.  I am in the Talented and Gifted (TAG) Department at Johns Creek High School and also teach science courses.  I joined the faculty at JCHS the first year it opened.  Before that, I taught in Fulton County at Centennial High School.  Before teaching in Fulton County, I taught in DeKalb County at Druid Hills High School.

I am Broad Field Certified in Science (6-12) and also In-Field Gifted Certified by the State of Georgia.  I am AP certified by the College Board to teach AP Physics and AP Chemistry.  In addition, I have earned the certification of "Master Teacher" by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.  I have a Bachelors Degree in engineering from GA Tech and a Masters Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University.  I have earned my education specialist certification through my work at GA State University where I am ABD (all but dissertation) for PhD in Science Education.

I have extensive work experience in the business world prior to changing careers to education.  Most of my work has been in Information Technology as a Project Manager.  I have worked for Coca-Cola USA and for Genuine Parts Company here in Atlanta.

Some of the science classes that I have taught include AP Physics C, AP Physics B, College Prep Physics, Honors Chemistry, Honors Biology, Physical Science, and Environmental Science.  Some of the TAG seminars that I have taught include String Theory, Stock Market Challenge, and Freshman Focus.

In addition to teaching classes and seminars, I have sponsored clubs and also coached sports.  Some of the clubs that I have sponsored include the Science Olympiad and the Physics Bowl.  I coach boys tennis at Johns Creek HS where we are the current Region and State Champions!!
